Review: Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls I present to you the new Maybelline MASCARAAA!!!

It's not just plush...it's MEGA plush.

The new Maybelline Mega Plush mascara came out quite some time ago, and there were loads and I mean LOADS of advertising on the T.V. The mascara promises instant full volume while being soft which peaked my interest however I have only just found it while shopping in Brent Cross. So that's one thing to tick off my wish list.

The wand on the mascara is a bit different, as it's the flexor brush and to be honest it takes a while to get used to as it feels flimsy (spelling??) when you apply the mascara. As for the bristles, they're not plastic (anyone know proper word for them?) which I personally prefer. Oh My God... I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the packaging, its bright minty green and hot metallic pink which I think look great together, and it's really bright and has a summer-y essence. The mascara is Maybelline's first gel-moose formula mascara, however the formula still looks and feels the same so didn't really see a difference on that part. Although on the website it says "40% less hard waxes", which I think is why it's a gel-moose but don't take my word for it. (Okay, enough rambling).

before...
...after

So now on to how it looks and feels. In my opinion Maybelline do the best volumizing mascaras, from their falsies to Colossal and now mega plush. They really are brilliant and they do what they say, which is always nice. My lashes look really long and are much thicker compared to other volumizing mascaras I've tried, even better than my Colossal which was my favourite mascara for ages. As for soft lashes, I did notice that they weren't as hard or brittle, however more coats you add they do become slightly brittle but only slightly.

In my opinion, Maybelline has done a brilliant job again and made a lovely mascara which I will probably rebuy once I'm finished with this one, unless they bring out another mascara which they probably will (lol).

That's all from me and as always if you want to leave any requests in the comments don't hesitate and tell your friends or random women or men who like make up, and will trust the opinions of a sixteen year old girl in London (haha).

Weekend Wanderings: Suffolk

OK, before I start the blog can we just take a moment to look at that amazing alliteration in the title that took me 5 minutes to come up with....brilliant. (Of course I'm joking guys)

Urg......look at that sky :(
As the title suggests my wanderings took me to Suffolk, Thorpeness to be precise. My dad's friend was having a party and I got dragged along although it wasn't too bad. We stayed in a little hotel. The nearest town was Alderberg (about five minutes drive away) so while the boys played golf my mum and I went there for a bit. It was beautiful, the cottages were all multi coloured and were really small and cute. Perfect for a shortie like me. We also walked on the beach for a while and found this interesting statue/monument thing. (It was really windy)

Once back at the hotel we looked around the grounds as we still had time before the party started. They had a lake/river with swans which was beautiful and different as you don't usually see that. Also we found some old boats (presumeably used to go on the lake which is pretty cool).

The party was lots of fun, the adults got very drunk which is always entertaining. The house was amazing, it's in a field and the hosts built a house on it so its in the middle of nowhere, the scenery was stunning. Only downside was there was no one my age, it's so annoying, I'm stuck in the middle, too young to be an adult yet too old to play with the kids that were there (they were about 2-7), such a hardship being 16 (I'm joking).

Although I originally I did not want to go, I'm glad I did as I had a lovely time and went somewhere new as I'd never been to suffolk before.

Happy Travels everyone, until next time

NOTM: Bright Red

"Nails Of The Moment"

I love painting my nails, but I'm one of those people that when they start they can't stop. I change my nail colour a lot, however this is limited as I don't have many nail polishes. Last year while shopping in Spain I picked up this polish a long with two others for 1 euro each. Bargain!!! Saying this they're not the best polishes ever, but they are bright and so perfect for summer.

The colour is called"578" (so inventive). It's semi-matt, although it doesn't show it in the picture. Once it's dry it is a bit pinky than the picture but you can still tell it is a true red, also it is more of an orange-red than a blue-red and makes you look more tanned which is great for me as I'm quite pale. :)

So that's my first NOTM, and let's hope there's many more to come.

Hi everyone...

Hi guys...*awkward*

If you haven't noticed I've been away (no shiz livvy, you've been away for THREE MONTHS!!!!). I'm sorry :( but I have a very good reason.

I was doing my GCSE, for all those who know what these are, I'm sure you understand now why I was away. For those who don't, GCSEs are like finals (for USA), but basically there really REALLY important exams. So that's where I've been.

I'm so glad it's over now, I get the whole of summer to do shopping, relaxing and blogging. Also I'm going to America!!! (excitement)

Well that's all, just a quick update.

P.S There's going to be a regular schedule for blogs now, I was thinking every Monday and Friday, but this may change as time goes on.
If you guys would like me to review, blog or talk about something specific than leave a comment below.

Look What I Found: No.7

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

While sorting out the loft my mum came across this little skincare gift set (oooh excitings). It consists of a headband with the No.7 logo in gold, a facial shammy, cleanser and toner, eye makeup remover plus they included a day and night cream.
Unfortunately the cleanser and toner were for normal to dry skin, so I gave them to my mum along with the headband, I've already got one.
First I tried the Day Cream; the consistency of it is VERY thick and very creamy. My first thought was oh no this is not for my skin type, luckily my mum has dry skin so out of the kindness of my heart, and I gave her the Day Cream and the Night Cream.
So I've kept the facial shammy and the eye makeup remover. Many of you may be thinking "What's a facial shammy, Livvy", well I didn't know so I looked it up and basically you just put your cleanser or scrub etc. on it and buff your face. However the head of the shammy is a dense sponge, so this means that the product just sits on top of the sponge and when I used my scrub, when I put it on my face the scrub just squished out on to the sides and didn't really help, in fact it was pretty rubbish so that was disappointing :(
Ending on a happy note, I was pleased with the Eye makeup remover. It didn't make my eyes uncomfortable, which is a big thing for me as I have sensitive eyes. Also it removed my makeup well; I didn't have to rub hard, which is excellent. Although you've got to remember to shake it, because it's two separate parts, it's a bit like that mouth wash you've got to shake and it mixes into a different colour.

Overall I was kind of disappointed with the set, but as it was probably from quite a while ago, I wasn't really expecting much.

So many people won't find this interesting, but if you do please leave a comment below saying and if you want me to do any specific blog ideas, I'd love to hear them.

What are the different primers???

As someone who uses a primer on a daily basis, I thought I would share some of my research with you guys.
There are many types of primers out there, all with different price ranges and specialities. You have foundation primers, which can either mattify and moisturizer your face, some are even tinted to even out skin tones. There are eyelid/eye shadow primers which help even the clour of your eyelid, reduce oiliness but mainly they help with longivity of your eye makeup and intensifying the colour. Two rarely used primers include mascara primers and lip primers.

So recently my friend asked me "why is this make-up green??" (she's only just started using make-up, it's soo cute i've been teaching her stuff). I thought I would do a little post explaining what different primer colours are:
Green counteracts redness, so for rosacea, spots or general redness (like me).
Orange counteracts blue, e.g. under eye circles
Lavender makes skin appear brighter and corrects sallow skin
Pinks will help to brighten up your complexion
Urban Decay Primer Potion - £15

Some popular foundation primers are Benefit The Pore-fessional £23.50, Laura Mercier Foundation Primer £21.43, Smashbox Colour Correcting Primer £25.00.
Popular eyeshadow primers include Urban Decay Primer Potion £15, Two Faced Shadow Insurance, £16.50. Although most brands do primers that work just aswell and are alot cheaper.

Hope this helps

Review: Maybelline Rocket Mascara vs. Colossal Mascara

So everyone's raving about the new Maybelline Rocket Mascara. Wanting to see the product for myself I brought it. The new mascara promises to give you 8x bigger volume and banish clumps. I thought great as I needed a new mascara and love volumizing ones. However I was kind of disappointed with this one. Having used the Colossal mascara for so long, I thought this new one would be so much better. But it didn't give me any volume at all if anything it didn't do much to my lashes. Also when I put it on my lashes clumped together and didn't separate as well as my other Maybelline mascara. Maybe I'm just to used to the Colossal, but this is what I thought. All in all I think that the Rocket mascara has been hyped about too much and there are better products out there. Try it for yourself and see what you think.
